Building Local-first software 2026—present

Waffle

A local-first everything library.

A private, visual library where files remain canonical and folders gain typed properties, saved views, live datasets and discovery.

The thesis

People should be able to structure everything they care about without surrendering ownership of the underlying files.

Waffle combines the file ownership of Obsidian, the structured views of Airtable and the visual fluency of Pinterest. Notes, links, files and dashboards live together as first-class objects.

The same library can accept live data through connectors while remaining legible to non-technical users. Accountless use is permanent; sync and collaboration are optional layers, not the foundation.
